If you have ever tried cutting the nails of your dog, then you know how difficult it can be to keep them steady. Usually, they would allow you to start cutting, then they get bored and start fidgeting in just a few minutes. There are even some dogs who don’t like getting their nails cut, resulting in a wrestling match with you all scratched up. There is this one woman who came up with a genius idea that will sure to change all that immediately.
For regular house dogs, regularly cutting their nails is required so that they won’t scratch people when cuddling or have trouble walking properly. But keeping them still to do so is a chore in itself. For Lindsey Shelton, keeping her pooch sitting happily while getting manicured is easy. This is because of her creative and simple headband.
Peanut butter band
This headband is made out of just plastic wrap and peanut butter, but it does the job well! Lindsey doesn’t really specify what type of peanut butter she put on her forehead. However, she did make it a point to mention that it did not contain any Xylitol, a sweetener that can be toxic for pooches when ingested.
Once she got her headgear in place, she knelt down and encouraged her doggie to have a lick. The yummy treat was enough to distract the pooch enough for her to get her clippers out and snip the pup’s long nails. This genius hack was filmed for all other dog lovers to learn from on TikTok.
And to think that Lindsey only came up with this incredible idea out of boredom and seeing that her dog had long nails that needed clipping! Check out her video below and see for yourself how effective her nail cutting method can be!
