One way to show our love to our dog is by maintaining its coat neat and in top shape.
The dog needs regular grooming for several reasons. First, it gives your dog confidence and maintains good health. Second, going to the groomer can be regarded as your bonding activity with your dog. Third, regular grooming also limits frequent shedding of fur.
When a dog knows that his coat is not maintained correctly, he feels inferior and sad. He thinks that no one will love him because of his awful looks.
Magnolia, a senior Shih Tzu around 9-10 years old, was in terrible condition when she first arrived at an animal shelter in South Carolina. Her background story is uncertain, but one thing’s for sure: she has severely matted fur. She was then transferred to Lancaster SPCA so that her needs would be addressed appropriately.
When Diana B. Knight, president of Lancaster SPCA, saw Magnolia, she immediately offered to foster her.
Magnolia’s severely matted fur caused a lot of problems to her. When the staff at Lancaster SPCA started to cut her hair, it was excruciating for Magnolia. Her matted fur also smelled urine. She cannot even see her surroundings.
The staff took some time to cut Magnolia’s fur, as they are also careful that they might hurt Magnolia. They also wanted to gain her trust first.
Magnolia looked like a brand new look after her heavily matted fur has been shaved off!
The staff at Lancaster SPCA can now see Magnolia’s cuteness. Her confidence was renewed because of her freshly-cut hair. She currently plays with the team and runs around the shelter. She also longs for human touch and affection due to years of neglect.
Now, Magnolia is ready to be adopted! Thanks to the love and care of the staff of Lancaster SPCA!
