Meet Theo—a 12-year-old Golden Retriever who was abandoned in a Walmart parking lot. Animal control took him in, and when his previous owners never claimed him, he was brought to the BAARK Dog Rescue in Barrington, Illinois. He was then diagnosed with terminal cancer.
The golden retriever was looking for a foster home, and thankfully, a longtime foster mom named Jenny Leech was more than happy to have him. She already has ten other rescue dogs, including two hospice fosters in her home. So when she brought Theo home, the senior dog didn’t have a hard time adjusting to his new environment.
One day, Leech decided to bring Theo to her local pet store to get him a collar with a name tag and give him a much-needed wash. However, a teal octopus toy caught the pup’s attention, so she had no choice but to spend $5.99 to buy it.
Ever since Theo got his octopus toy, he never went anywhere without it. He even sleeps with the toy beside him every day like it is his best friend. In his recent trip to the park, he brought it along with him and made sure to take it home safe and sound.
Leech wanted to make sure that there’s a backup for Theo’s beloved octopus toy once it started to look worn. So, she posted on her social media account that she was looking for a spare toy that can be used as a replacement. She even added some pictures to show how attached the pup was with the octopus toy, which already looked worn after two weeks of purchase.
The result of Leech’s post was beyond unexpected because she received a box full of octopus toys from Live Like Roo Foundation. The pup couldn’t hold back his excitement after seeing ten octopus toys waiting for him to give all of his love. His big smile just showed how happy he was with his little presents, and it was the cutest thing ever.
